Part of Borders and Belonging: A Series of Events on Human Migration and leading up to our 2016-17 Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Saywer Seminar on non-citizenship, this free, public two-day conference brings together scholars in the humanities and social sciences to expand the discourse on migration by analyzing key, emerging, and enduring terms in migration studies, such as alien, denizen, detention, deferral, (in)security, migrant, non-citizen, precarity, and refugee. It features addresses, panel presentations, and workshops in which participants share works-in-progress.
