Author Michelle Alexander helped initiate a national movement with her best selling book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness. This month, Santa Cruz Public Libraries sponsors Book-to-Action, a month-long series of events fostering community dialog and civic engagement.
